SPORTS | Bottom of the lineup carries Tigers past Portland Bulldogs

The bottom of the lineup helped Biddeford Varsity Tigers capture an 11-0 victory over Portland Varsity Bulldogs on Tuesday at Hadlock Field. Presley Parenteau, Evan Doyon, and Colton Sirois combined for four of the team’s seven hits in the victory. They scored four runs and drove in four.

Biddeford Varsity Tigers won thanks in part to seven runs in the fifth inning. an error scored two runs, Mateo Pulaski induced Michael Elwell to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, John Eisenhart induced Ernie Dore to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Parenteau singled, scoring one run, Doyon singled, scoring one run, and a wild pitch scored one run.

Biddeford Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the third after an error scored one run.

Payton Blais earned the win for Biddeford Varsity Tigers. The starter gave up four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Pulaski took the loss for Portland Varsity Bulldogs. The starter went four innings, allowing nine runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking one.

Doyon led Biddeford Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Parker Blais went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Biddeford Varsity Tigers in hits. Parenteau collected two hits for Biddeford Varsity Tigers in three at bats. Biddeford Varsity Tigers ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game.

Jacob Johnson, Tommy Chase, Bailey Jordan, and Neiker Fuenmayor Pacheco each collected one hit for Portland Varsity Bulldogs.

Biddeford Varsity Tigers welcome Noble on Friday for their next game.
