Scholarship funds are released to students after they successfully complete their first semester of college

Saco & Biddeford Savings (SBSI) is proud to continue its commitment to students by donating $24,000 in scholarship funds for graduating seniors pursuing higher education.
The funds were distributed through schools, allowing each school to determine how best to award its designated scholarship contribution. Some schools present the full amount to one student, while others divide the donation among multiple recipients.
“These students have worked incredibly hard to reach this point, and it’s exciting to think about where their journeys may take them,” says Mark Jones, president and CEO of SBSI. “Our scholarships are simply one way we can let them know that we believe in them, we’re proud of what they’ve accomplished and, wherever their paths may lead, we’ll be cheering them on.”

Scholarship funds are released to students after they successfully complete their first semester of college, helping provide support as they build momentum in their post-secondary journey. Each recipient also receives a personal letter from Jones, recognizing their achievement and congratulating them on this important milestone.
For scholarship recipient Brian Chung, the support offers encouragement as he prepares for college and begins working toward his academic goals.
“I am grateful for this scholarship and cannot wait to use it to better my education,” says Chung, who graduated from Westbrook High School and is heading to DePaul University this fall. “I plan to minor in Business and major in Film Broadcasting. Thank you for seeing potential in me.”
