It doesn’t matter if you’re the mayor. You still have to earn your place at the Waterhouse Field concession stand

Biddeford City Council president Roger Beaupre has been volunteering his culinary skills for more than 35 years, achieving near legendary status for his cheeseburgers at community events, including football games at Waterhouse Field and the annual La Kermesse Festival.

Mayor Liam LaFountain is beginning his second year as a voluntary chef but has to put in his time grilling hotdogs before he gets promoted to the “big grill.”

“I have been doing thing longer than he has been alive,” Beaupre joked pointing a spatula at the 30-year-old mayor.

LaFountain just grinned. “Someday,’ he said. “Some day”
