Cairns was one of seven gymnasts representing Maine among top athletes from across New England.

The Region Six Championships bring together top qualifiers from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York, making it the most competitive meets of the season.

Placing third all-round ranks Cairns among the top gymnasts in the region.

Prior to the regional championships, Cairns competed at the Maine State Championships held in Augusta, earning First Place All-Around with a score of 37.7, along with first place finishes on vault, uneven bars and floor.

Those achievements qualified Cairns as one of the top seven Maine gymnasts selected to represent the state on the Level 7 Super Seven Team.

Cairns’ performance also marks a comeback following a broken tibia off the balance beam three seasons ago.

After completing physical therapy in February 2024, she returned to gymnastics and healed in time to compete in her dance competitions during her first season of dance at the Steppin’ Out Dance Center in Saco

After a full day of school, Delilah transitions to outdoor track before heading to Dudziaks Gymnastics, where she trains 18 hours per week.

Cairns has also recently taken on the role of junior coach, dedicating additional time to assisting younger athletes.

This year, Cairns has set a level vault gym record and established school records in both the 40-yard dash and 240-yard dash at Massabesic Middle School.
