BIDDEFORD’S STATE LAWMAKERS

STATE SENATOR HENRY INGWERSEN, (D) State Senate District 32

Henry Ingwersen is serving his second term, representing District 32 in the Maine Senate, which includes Biddeford and the surrounding communities of Arundel, Dayton, Hollis and Lyman.

In addition to his legislative service, Ingwersen also serves as president of the Arundel Conservation Trust and is a member of the Kennebunk River Remediation Advisory Committee for the Town of Arundel. He also serves on the board of Defend Our Health, a group working to ensure all people have access to safe food and drinking water.

In the state senate, Ingwersen chairs the Health & Human Services Committee and also serves on the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee.

STATE REP. RYAN FECTEAU, House Speaker (D) District 132

 State Rep. Ryan Fecteau of Biddeford today serves as Speaker of the House, a position he previously held from 2020 to 2022.

Fecteau previously represented Biddeford from 2014 to 2022, leaving because of Maine’s term limits law that restricts state lawmakers from serving more than four consecutive terms.

Fecteau was elected in 2024 for his return to the House after moving to another district in Biddeford.

Fecteau is employed by Avesta Housing, a non-profit housing developer and management company.

STATE REP. MARC MALON (D) District 133 (western Biddeford)

Rep. Marc Malon is serving his second term in the Maine House of Representatives. He sits on the new Housing and Economic Development Committee and the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee.

Malon grew up in Biddeford, where he lives today with his wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters.

Prior to becoming a lawmaker, Malon worked as the legislative liaison for the Maine Attorney General’s Office and as a legislative aide for the Maine Speaker of the House and the Maine Senate Democratic Office. He has also worked on several political and issue advocacy campaigns, including efforts to protect the Affordable Care Act and same-day voter registration.

An active member of his community, Malon is the former chair of the Biddeford Recycling and Waste Management Commission and a proud member of IBEW Local 1837.

STATE REP. TRACI GERE (D) District 134 (Coastal Biddeford)

Rep. Traci Gere is serving her third term in the Maine House, representing Kennebunkport and parts of Kennebunk and Biddeford. She is the House chair of the Legislature’s newly formed Housing and Economic Development Committee. Her areas of policy focus include housing, sustainable economic and community development, workforce development and apprenticeships.

Gere graduated from Brown University and earned her MBA at Boston University. She has spent over 30 years in research and marketing in the high-tech and consumer goods industries, owned and managed a retail store, and currently works in strategy and development consulting.

STATE REP. WAYNE PARRY (R) District 140 (Arundel, Dayton)

Rep, Wayne Parry has a long legislative history. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and served three more terms until forced out of office by Maine’s term limits law. After a two-year hiatus, Parry returned to the House in 2020 and is now serving his third term.

Parry is a self-employed lobsterman and is the ranking member of the Legislature’s Transportation Committee.
