HOWARD ‘TINY’ MICHAUD

Jan. 14, 1962 – July 26, 2026

DENNETT, CRAIG & PATE | Howard J. Michaud III, 64, of River Road in Dayton, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Born on January 14, 1962, in Biddeford, Maine, Howard was the son of the late Howard J. Michaud II and Lillian Day Michaud.

Howard attended Biddeford schools before proudly serving his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he built a career as a professional driver with Echo, Dragon Products, and Auburn Concrete.

Known to many by his motorcycle road name, “Tiny,” Howard was a proud and dedicated member of Orchard Masonic Lodge No. 215, the Widow Sons of Maine Knights Templar Chapter, the Royal Arch Chapter, and St. Amand Commandery #20. The friendships and brotherhood he found through Freemasonry were among his greatest joys and remained an important part of his life.

Howard was truly one of a kind—an amazing man with a heart of gold. He had the biggest smile, gave the very best hugs, and had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He loved riding his motorcycle with his Masonic brothers, his brother, and friends, and found peace in the open road. He also enjoyed spending time in his garage, listening to music, attending concerts, and sharing laughter with family and friends. More than anything, Howard treasured time with those he loved. His grandchildren brought him endless joy, and some of his happiest moments were spent making memories with them.

Above all else, Howard was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, a proud grandfather, a loving brother, uncle, and a loyal friend. Family was the center of his world, and he loved fiercely and unconditionally. His legacy is one of love, loyalty, compassion, and friendship—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Howard was predeceased by his beloved son, Daniel Thomas Michaud; his parents, Howard J. Michaud II and Lillian Day Michaud; and his sister, Lisa Michaud.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Michaud of Dayton; his daughter, Salena Frenette of Saco and her fiancé, Steven Bridges; Elizabeth Pagan Rivera; his brother, Stephen Michaud and wife Jennifer of Denmark; his sisters, Florence Michaud of Parsonsfield, Donna Bubar of Prentiss, Karen Jean and husband Ron of Virginia, and Patty Bubar of Mattawamkeag; his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Casey, Kaylin Casey, and Mariah Michaud; and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Joshua Michaud, Vincent Michaud, Kheristen Howard, Jennifer Monroe, Jessica Beaubien, and Roland Perkins Jr. He also leaves behind countless extended family members, dear friends, fellow Masons, brothers of the road, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Military honors will be rendered on Monday, August 3, at 10 a.m. at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Sanford, Maine. | READ MORE

CHARLES E. MARTEL

March 24, 1941 – July 23, 2026

HOPE MEMORIAL CHAPEL | Charles E. Martel, 85, passed away on July 23, 2026, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born in Biddeford on March 24, 1941, the son of Omer and Yvonne (Bouffard) Martel. He attended St. Andre School and graduated from St. Louis High School with the Class of 1959.

Following graduation, Charles served in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Corporal. After his military service, he was employed as a heat treater at LYN-FLEX and later at W.H. Nichols.

Charles enjoyed golfing, bowling, walking, and exercising. He especially enjoyed playing cards with his family and working on jigsaw puzzles.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Lionel Martel, Conrad Martel, Fernand Martel, and Marcel Martel; and five sisters, Therese Blais, Florence Letarte, Gertrude Lamontagne, Gabrielle Beaulieu, and Jacqueline Dion.

He is survived by his sister, Rachel R. Gendron, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 7, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford. A Funeral Outside of Mass will follow at the chapel at 1 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. | READ MORE

SHAWN ERIC CABANA

Sept. 17, 1971 – July 24, 2026

DOBSON FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICES | It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shawn Eric Cabana, who was born on September 17, 1971, in Biddeford, Maine. Shawn passed away on July 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous three-year battle with colon cancer.

Shawn was the beloved husband of Sherry Cabana and a devoted father to his daughter Morgan and his son Mason. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment he was able to spend with them.

Shawn was predeceased by his parents, Paul Cabana and Elaine (Strout) Bilodeau, and by his brother, Brian Cabana.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sherry Cabana; his daughter, Morgan and son Mason; his sister, Sherri Duncan and her husband, Rob; his sister-in-law, Jen Johnson; his brother-in-law, Scott Johnson; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will miss him greatly.

Shawn found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He cherished spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed playing old video games. He loved relaxing while watching MASH* and had a passion for collecting Coca-Cola and Volkswagen memorabilia, always appreciating the nostalgia and memories they represented. Shawn also had a special love for animals, especially his beloved cats, Wednesday and Raven, whose companionship brought him comfort and joy throughout the years.

Despite the challenges he faced during his illness, Shawn demonstrated remarkable strength, courage, and resilience. He will be remembered not only for his determination but also for his kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter in Shawn’s memory.

MARGUERITE CABANA BOLDUC

Feb. 6, 1942 – July 14, 2026

COTE FUNERAL HOME | Marguerite Cabana Bolduc, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and matriarch of the family, died on 14 July, 2026 following health challenges that interrupted her loving, generous, full and fulfilling life.

Born on 6 February, 1942 in Biddeford, Maine, Marguerite was the daughter of Yvonne and Albert Cabana, both of whom predeceased her, as have her siblings Albert Cabana, Robert Cabana, Paulette LaBrecque, and Aline Cabana.

In 1962 she married Clement Bolduc, settling in Saco where the two raised their family. Marguerite’s survivors include her dear sister Jeanne Moore; beloved husband Clement and their children Michael Bolduc, Lynn Nadeau and her husband Jay, and Kevin Bolduc and his wife Amy; and her much adored grandchildren Cody Nadeau and his wife Shawna, Casey Nadeau, Benjamin Bolduc, and Lillian Bolduc for whom she was their greatly loved Mémère.

Marguerite was a graduate of Thornton Academy, a member of the Good Shepherd Parish, and worked two decades at both Pratt Whitney in Berwick and General Dynamics in Saco where she was an inspector. She was a proud contributing member of the local Daughters of Isabella for twenty-five years, and the Silver Sneakers exercise group for twenty years. And it cannot be overlooked that she was a part-time lobster woman with her dear husband and son Kevin, never tiring of watching the sun set over Saco Bay.

Marguerite lived a life of charity and love, “always there in our family’s hardest moments, caring for others before herself,” and the hosting of numerous holidays and special family events. She held dear to the values of family first and giving-the-shirt-off-her-back – values that inspired and remain with those who will ever love and miss her.

Marguerite leaves a rich legacy of charitable works that included not only her family, but the “we’re family” motto she espoused of feeding those in need with not only tangible, but spiritual and loving kindness however she could.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marguerite’s name may be made to Northern Light Home Care and Hospice in South Portland, and the Alzheimer’s Association of Maine in Scarborough. READ MORE

FRANCES M. CARWOOD

July 18, 1925 – July 24, 2026

DENNETT, CRAIG & PATE |Frances M. Cawood, 101, of Buxton passed Friday July 24, 2026 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born in Portland on July 18, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Mary Lambert Winter.

She graduated from South Portland High School.

Frances did attend the Standish Congregational Church where she sang in the choir. She most recently was a member of the West Buxton Baptist Church.

Frances was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Standish and South Portland.

She was a real estate agent with Flaherty Realty in Falmouth. She later was employed with Shaw’s, Buxton Post Office, and worked in the cafeteria in Falmouth and MSAD 6.

Frances enjoyed making quilts, sewing, knitting and wintering in Florida.

She is predeceased by her husband Lewis Sr in 1997 and a great grandson Malakai in 2016.

Survivors include four sons Stephen Cawood of Cornish and wife June, Lewis Cawood Jr of Florida and wife Ruth; James Cawood of Baldwin and David Cawood of Standish, 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11 am Thursday July 30, at the West Buxton Baptist Church, 82 Parker Farm Rd. Buxton. Pastor Trent Boyd will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date at the Central Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Augusta, with her husband Lewis Sr. | READ MORE
