NEWS | A busy afternoon for Biddeford firefighters

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the Biddeford Fire Department responded to a report pf a building fire at Parkview Court Building, No. 6, in Biddeford.

Several Biddeford units were dispatched to the scene with back-up and mutual aid service from Arundel, Saco and Old Orchard Beach.

Firefighters found an outside fire in the rear of the building that was extending up the outside of the building and into the eves of the roof.

The fire was quickly contained, and the mutual aid units were returned to their communities.

No one was injured and none of the building’s occupants were displaced.

The cause of the fire was investigated jointly by the Biddeford Fire Department, State Fire Marshals Office, and the State Forest Service Department Rangers.

The fire was classified as accidental, improper outside burning. Crews cleared the scene at approximately 4:40 p.m.
