Catherine H. Goudreau

Feb. 22, 1942 – April 30, 2026

HOPE MEMORIAL CHAPEL | Catherine Hoyt Goudreau, born February 22, 1942, the daughter of Elizabeth (Brown) and Horace Hoyt, passed away after a long and full life rooted in the community she cherished. Born, raised, and having spent most of her life in Biddeford, Catherine’s connection to her hometown was woven into everything she did.

A graduate of Biddeford High School and the University of Maine at Orono, Catherine devoted 35 years to teaching 7th grade English in the Biddeford School System. Her classroom became a place where students discovered confidence, curiosity, and a love of language. Throughout her life, former students would stop her to share memories of their time with her—proof of the lasting impact she made on generations of young people.

Catherine married Robert “Bob” Goudreau (deceased) in 1964, and together they raised two children, Margaret “Peg” Pothier and Robert “Rob” Goudreau. In the 1980s, she brought her sharp wit and spirited personality to public service as a member of the Biddeford City Council, where she especially enjoyed the lively political banter.

In 2000, Catherine moved from her family homestead, where she had lived since birth, to reside with her daughter Peg and family. Retirement allowed her to become deeply involved in her grandchildren’s lives—chauffeur, English tutor, sideline cheerleader, and constant supporter. She took great pride in watching two of her grandchildren graduate from her alma mater.

She treasured her summers at Biddeford Pool, spending long days by the water with friends. A passionate traveler, Catherine explored the world through cruises, tropical vacations, and international trips. Among her most cherished memories were two family trips to Italy, including the extraordinary experience of attending Mass at the Vatican and meeting Pope John Paul II.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Bob Goudreau; her sister, Peg Poulin; and her brother, John Hoyt.

She is survived by her daughter Peg Pothier and husband Chuck; her grandson Connor Pothier and wife Taylor, and their children Layla and Clara; her granddaughter Mia Pothier; her son Rob Goudreau, and his sons Josh and Noah Goudreau; and a niece and several nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she embraced each new generation with joy.

She never met a dog she didn’t want to befriend. She had two Boston Terriers over the years. One of her beloved dogs, Sir Boss, was the inspiration for a children’s book she authored entitled Patch the Pup. She enjoyed sharing copies with everyone she met. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Welfare Society (AWS), honoring her lifelong love of animals. | READ MORE

Adrienne Marie Taylor

Jan. 28, 1988 – May 5, 2026

DENNETT, CRAIG & PATE | If you’re reading this, it means I lost my four-year battle with Ovarian cancer. As shitty as it sounds, I still reflect on the positive. I got four extra years on multiple lines of chemo and immunotherapy treatments, surgery, radiation and clinical trials. With this time, I built a stronger relationship with my one and only sis, Melissa. I got to help my parents Ken and Lois in the stunning re-design of their kitchen. I was able to witness all of my beautiful friends getting married and some start families of their own. I gained the title of Auntie A, which I cherish deeply. I fulfilled my lust of travel with friends. I reflected on the journey of who I became, how I got here and the impact I wanted to leave when I’m gone.

I left my hometown of Colonie, NY in 2011 after spending a month on a cross-country road trip with two of my friends. Shortly after moving to Maine, I joined the New Hampshire Air National Guard as an Aerospace Medical Technician. The structure and discipline carried out into my civilian life. If I could do it all over again, there’s definitely something I would change and things that I wouldn’t.

Adrienne Taylor enlisted with the New Hampshire Air National Guard in 2011. She served on our domestic operations team, the New England Chemical – Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives Enhanced Response Force Package as a Hot Zone Triage Medic.

She cross-trained into possibly the most demanding enlisted medical career field, respiratory therapy. It’s with this skillset that she served on our Critical Care Air Transport Team. Through exceptional dedication, expertise, and leadership, she earned the Meritorious Service Medal. Through her service, she impacted and improved the lives of so many around.

Adrienne Marie Taylor, 38 passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on May 5, 2026 on the shore of Fortunes Rocks in Biddeford Pool. She was born on January 28, 1988 in Niskayuna, NY, the daughter of Kenneth and Lois (Benjamin) Taylor. | READ MORE

Michael S. Peterson

June 26, 1973 – May 1, 2026

COTE FUNERAL HOME |Michael Scott Petersen, 52, of Biddeford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 1, 2026, at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center – Portland. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 26, 1973, a son of Peter Petersen and Estelle Perham Day. He grew up and was educated in Southern Maine.

Following school, Michael worked for 13 years with Woodstructures in Saco. He was later employed with The Lobster Company in Arundel, Volk Packaging in Biddeford, Abbott Labs in Scarborough, and most recently, Pack Edge in Saco.

In 2006 Michael met the love of his life, Jennifer Avery, and from that point on the couple was inseparable. They settled in Biddeford, and made a meaningful impact on the local community. Besides working his regular jobs, Michael often assisted Jennifer with her homecare business by visiting and caring for the elderly, and comforting those under hospice care.  He made lasting relationships with many of the clients he served.

Michael was truly one of a kind, and would always sacrifice his own needs to put others first.  He would be the first to step-up at family gatherings to entertain the children, man the grill, and do the cleaning up.

Michael had an extraordinary ability to connect with kids. When his children were younger, Michael would build amazing snow forts and have some intense snowball fights with his sons, Austin and Brandon.  He would take long hikes with his daughter, Haylie, when they lived in the Sebago area and shared his enthusiasm and love of nature with all his children. Seth and Destiny have fond memories of their long talks sharing that he was a great listener, never held any judgement and always knew what to say. As a grandfather, Michael completely adored his grandkids and would often be found playing with them down on the floor.

His greatest passion was riding his motorcycle.  He would describe the experience like flying, like being one with the bike and the road. | READ MORE
