Marcus Soucy puts on strong contact performance Saturday, leading Biddeford’s strong win over Westbrook

Marcus Soucy collected three hits in three at bats, as the Biddeford Tigers baseball team came back strong and rolled over the Westbrook Blue Blazes 11-1 on Saturday.

Soucy doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.

Biddeford Varsity Tigers won the away game at Westbrook thanks in part to six runs in the fourth inning. Ernie Dore doubled, scoring two runs, Soucy doubled, scoring two runs, Michael Elwell doubled, scoring one run, and Colton Sirois doubled, scoring one run.

The Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Alex Gosselin doubled down the left field line, Dore singled to center field, Soucy singled to center field, and Sirois doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Biddeford added one run in the second after Parker Blais grounded out.

Pitcher Payton Blais started the game for Biddeford. The pitcher allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking none. Nate Remington stepped on the hill first for the Blue Blazes. The pitcher surrendered 12 hits and 11 runs (seven earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one.

The Tigers piled up 13 hits in the game. Evan Doyon, Sirois, and Elwell each collected multiple hits. Soucy and Doyon each stole multiple bases for Biddeford as the Tigers ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game.
