Dylan Doughty’s resignation from the Biddeford City Council prompted another councilor to issue a public statement about how much he and his thoughtful approach to the job will be missed.

Marc Lessard — the longest serving member of the Biddeford City Council — offered high praise for fellow city councilor Dylan Doughty only moments before the full council voted to accept Doughty’s resignation.
Doughty first joined the council in a 2024 special election to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Bob Mills.
In November, Doughty defended his seat against a comeback attempt by Mills.
Doughty has earned a reputation as a thoughtful, centrist moderate on the council.
Doughty earned a standing ovation from the audience and his fellow councilors before leaving his seat.
